Mariana smith

Mariana Smith is a certified mindfulness coach and former physician. With years of professional training and experience, she guides individuals and groups in cultivating awareness, presence, and compassion. Her work blends scientific rigor with a light, accessible style - helping people bring mindfulness into daily life in ways that are meaningful, practical, and deeply supportive.


susan alsembach

Susan Alsembach is a Registered Holistic Nutritionist and former nurse. She studied nursing at the University of Brighton (U.K.) and worked across surgical, medical, gynecological, and palliative care. Inspired by her daughter’s diagnosis with gluten and dairy intolerances, she trained at the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition, graduating in 2016. Today, she combines her medical background with holistic nutrition to guide people toward sustainable health and balance.

how the bites of bliss was born

Not long ago, we crossed paths and quickly realized how connected our work was - even if it looked different on the surface. As we shared our perspectives, we found ourselves coaching each other: Susan dove deep into mindfulness, and Mariana discovered many new insights in nutrition.

And from that rich exchange, Bites of Bliss was born. Check this video to listen to them explaining this fortunate encounter. 

What to expect

live classes with Mariana & susan

Each of the six live, 90-minute sessions is designed to be interactive and supportive. In a group up to 15 people, alongside short teachings, you’ll be invited to try different mindfulness and nutrition activities - simple practices you can explore in your own way.

There will be time to share experiences, ask questions, and connect with others, making the learning richer and more personal. The heart of this course is to help you discover how mindfulness and nutrition come together, so you can find your own way to eat with more balance, awareness, and care.

your companion workbook

Alongside the live sessions, you’ll receive a beautifully designed workbook to support your journey. After every class, you’ll get the pages for that session - including short texts, reflections, and gentle invitations, from journaling prompts to mindfulness practices and nutrition explorations. Nothing is mandatory; everything is an invitation. The workbook is a space to capture your insights, experiment with ideas, and discover the practices that feel meaningful for you.

recorded guided meditations

Each session includes a live mindfulness meditation, giving you the chance to pause, settle, and connect more deeply with yourself as you explore the topics that Susan and Mariana will bring to you. After class, you’ll receive access to two recorded versions of that meditation, in different lengths, so you can choose what fits best into your life - if you do chose to try this. The links to access the recordings are shared immediately after each session, and you’ll be able to keep them for ongoing practice at home.

When you click Register here, you’ll be redirected to our Practice Better platform. There, you’ll complete your registration, make your payment, receive the Zoom link for the live sessions, and get access to all course resources (the workbook, recorded meditations, and more).


Absolutely. Bites of Bliss is designed for beginners and experienced practitioners alike. You don’t need prior knowledge — just curiosity and a willingness to explore. Everything is invitational, with no pressure or “shoulds.” You’ll be guided step by step and supported along the way.


That’s intentional. We invite you to come as you are, without needing to anticipate, prepare, or study ahead. Each class is designed for you to simply arrive, listen, practice, and let yourself be guided through the exploration.

After each session, you’ll receive the workbook pages for that week - with reflections, activities, and invitations you can explore on your own if you wish, until the following class.


The course is designed as an interactive experience, so we encourage you to join live whenever possible. That said, all sessions will be recorded and shared with participants, so you can catch up if you miss one or revisit the material at your own pace.


We don’t anticipate canceling - we believe strongly in this program and are excited to share it with you. That said, life can sometimes get in the way, or if we don’t reach the minimum number of participants (it is our very first edition, after all), cancellation is possible.

If that ever happens, you’ll be notified as soon as possible and your payment will be fully reimbursed immediately.
